Histiory
in the making
All
our tree planting projects interconnect and will adorn the Great British landscape for
centuries to come. We often read of the treasures being unearthed and learn of what life
was like in our early years, so what better than installing sixty time capsules beneath
sixty trees. These could not be unearthed for one, two, or even three plus centuries from
now.
As the
CFOP & Landscape-UK planting projects are all themed, we already have some serious
planting of tree whips into a variety of planting projects and locations. These will adorn
the landscape for centuries to come but now we are including the planting of 60 semi
mature native broadleaves with 60 individual time capsules buried beneath during 2012, the
most prestigious year of the 21st century.
These
semi mature trees will be planted into historical homes, county estates and public
parklands at locations throughout the UK. And providing everything goes to plan - the
final capsule and sixty year old English Oak tree will be planted on the 20/12/2012 into a
most prestigious location.
It’s an
ambitious and resourceful project, so to achieve our goal we are in search of 60 sponsors.
Each representing a cross section and representation of what life, industry and commerce
here in the UK represents today - with no more than three capsules of a similar nature.
All
trees will be semi mature of 20cm to 60cm girth of native provenance, broad-leaves
standing at 4.5 to 8Mts tall when planted with a covenant placed upon each so not to be
felled or moved within the first two hundred years.
