Where does the food come from
that the tree uses to grow? That was a question asked during one of our school planting
workshops, The answer is simple yet very complex - it comes from the air yes
Trees feed from the Air!
Trees like all plants carry on
the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants utilise the
energy from the sun to make sugar from carbon dioxide in the air. The next time you
look at a tree and its bio-mass think about the fact that what you see was once nothing
but a volume of carbon dioxide gasses.The chemical formula for photosynthesis being..
6 CO2 + 6 H2O
---->sunlight and chlorophyll ---->C6H12O6
+ 6 O2
simplified
Carbon dioxide + water
---->sunlight and chlorophyll ----> glucose + oxygen
This simple chemical formula
represents a key element in the reduction of excess CO2 emissions and is
the most important reaction on Earth, photosynthesis the basis of greener credentials and life.
Welcome to the
Carbon
Footprint - Offsetting Partnership securing a sustainable and
balanced approach in life;
Offsetting wont reverse the
effects already caused by CO2 emissions, its what we can do now to minimise our
current CO2 emissions and even then no matter how low we make our personal and
business CO2 emissions in re-addressing the environmental balance, there will
inevitably always be some left!
This is where the forestry element
comes in, utilising the natural and proven resources that will aid the filtration of
excess CO2 from the atmosphere.
If tree planting is fundamental to
your greener marketing credentials and carbon conscious offset, talk with us today! it
doesn't cost the earth to plant trees with us.
We trust that you find ours a
means of sustainability, educational and a positive Eco-action, more importantly an
affordable expenditure in creating a cleaner, greener and healthier UK environment
for all to enjoy.
