A Hedge Fund with a difference -

With your support and sponsorship, we are planting 2020 miles of new hedgerows throughout Britain and sponsoring school, community clean renewable energy projects.

Our Hedge Fund is innovative and original for the 21st century. Based upon planting 2020 miles of sustainably managed biodiversity and at a quite inexpensive price of just £3.95 per Mt, we have an annual planting target of 200 miles throughout the next decade. That equates to 1.64 million native provenance hedging plants annually. Every planted Mt assigns £1 towards £3.3m of UK School and Community Renewable Energy Projects.

Today, more people connect with hedgerow plantings than with many other national tree planting projects. Why? Most probably because we are at our closest to touchable wildlife habitats and flourishing nature reserves held within mile after mile of hedgerow corridors that extend throughout the UK.

Hedgerows are linear woodlands / forests and the green lungs of our planet, sequestering our carbon emissions, the nectar source for bees and other pollinators and providing an array of food sources through foliage, berries, nuts roots, shoots, fungi, etc being harvested, are the wildlife havens alive with a record number of 1,500 insects, and homes to 65 birds and 20 mammal species.

Looking back through the archives even during the Roman days, a hedge fund was just that – a fund to create and plant hedges. And itremained so some 1500 years ago when hedgerow records firstbegan identifying the man-made boundary delineation’s and those are today still an integral and iconic part of the rural British countryside. The first monetary hedge fund was registered in 1949, long after we nurserymen, women and foresters first took up the phase.

That aside and getting back to basics, what could be better than connecting your business and its products, customers and shareholders with sustainably managed biodiversity. And through the CFOP & Landscape-UK Hedge Fund by simply signing up to sponsor a guaranteed amount of new hedgerow plantings weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually, you can help us reach our planting target.

Our plan of action is two fold taking in both native and contemporary hedge plantings.

  • Establishing 2020 miles of new native hedgerows throughout the UK planted into community projects, farms, nature reserves of which some will simply connect ancient and or neglected hedgerows to the new.

  •  Introducing new native and contemporary hedges into 2020 schools, providing educational resources with wildlife habitats created that offer privacy and security. Some will be low and short others may be tall and meandering.

CFOP & Landscape-UK certificates of participation will be forwarded to those supporting the project.
