2010 The International Year of Biodiversity

As 2010 is a year for action, so every British native forestry tree we plant on your behalf sponsors a second tree that will be planted by school pupils into community projects or school grounds.

Biodiversity short for biological diversity is best summed up as the natural variety of life here on earth, encompassing all living organisms and fundamentally affect all our lives at both work and home.

Biodiversity is the key factor in the overall approach to climate change. Its detrimental decline over the last three decades poses a greater risk to the environment than some of the other aspects of climate change and increased carbon emissions. Biodiversity maintains our healthy and stable environment through the interactions between all species and habitats providing us with vital natural key elements such as clean air and water whist supplying the raw materials for technology and business opportunities.

Through the C.F.O.P & Landscape-UK and pro-activeness we can all interact to regenerate Biodiversity here in the UK thus creating a healthier environment in our place of work and around the home.

Introducing Biodiversity in business doesn't cost the earth!

Our Green Leaf - Points & Rewards is designed to encourage companies to be more carbon conscious in product marketing whilst rewarding clients for their business. A mature English Oak makes for the perfect corporate gift when planted at the client’s headquarters!

For those who are accredited with ISO or becoming accredited you may already be including the aspects of Biodiversity into management plans and policies.

Where companies manage landholdings or grounds we endorse utilising Green Leaf to redress the balance in local Biodiversity in a way which is sensitive to the immediate surroundings by incorporating small areas of priority habitats. This may include planting native trees and wild flowers into the immediate landscape or installing raised planters and where there are no apparent areas available, working with those in the local communities and schools.

Introduce a tree planting policy and directly participate into the C.F.O.P & Landscape-UK project tailoring it to turnover, booked orders, corporate tree dedications to clients etc.

Incorporate living green roofs into smoking shelters, sheds or outbuildings.

Or simply install bird boxes / feeders to attract the local wildlife habitat into your immediate area.

Introducing Biodiversity around the home doesn't cost the earth!

Dedicate an area of ground that will reintroduce the natural local wildlife with an array of landscape materials and plants that enhances your immediate surroundings.

Incorporate Living Green Roofs into extensions, garden sheds and summer houses.

Install composting bins and water buts to recycle all the natural elements that are generally discarded.

For those burning wood fuel, take a look at our wood fuel starter kits and adopt the ‘Grow and Burn’ process that removes Carbon from the atmosphere.

Think plants, in particular trees are the green lungs of our planet! that through the natural process of "Photosynthesis" have the unparalleled ability to remove and retain our carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere.
